The Mitchell Public Library Board of Trustees meet every second Tuesday of the month at 5:00pm. To view the minutes of the meetings select the year and then the date of the meeting. MEETING OF THE MITCHELL PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES, JANUARY 8, 2008.

The Mitchell Public Library Board of Trustees met on January 8, 2008, at 5:00 p.m. in the community room at the Library.

Members present: Blumer, Claggett, Lapka, Margheim, Molumby.
Members absent: Taylor.

Minutes.  The minutes of the December 2008 board meeting were approved.  M/S/P—
Claggett, Lapka.  Minutes will be posted on the Library’s website.

Director’s Report.  The Director’s report was approved as given.  A copy is on file at the Library.

New business.  An update on the Food for Fines drive was given.  As of January 8, 2008,
213 non-perishable food items were given to the library in lieu of paying fines.  Several overdue books that were due in 2006 were returned.  These books were returned before they reached the billing stage.  The program was extended into January. 

A proposal was presented to the Trustees for the purpose of purchasing computers.  The Mitchell Public Library is applying for a grant to the Gates Foundation in order to purchase 2 computers to replace out-dated ones.  The total amount of the grant is over $3,000.  If awarded, the Gates Foundation will pay 34% of the total cost, the State Library will pay 33% and the City will pay 33%.

Bills.  The following bills were approved for payment. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 5:25 p.m.  The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 12, 2008, at 5:00 p.m. in the community room at the Library.
