The Mitchell Public Library Board of Trustees meet every second Tuesday of the month at 5:00pm. To view the minutes of the meetings select the year and then the date of the meeting. MEETING OF THE MITCHELL PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES, TUESDAY, MARCH 11TH, 2008.
The Mitchell Public Library Board of Trustees met on Tuesday, March 11th, 2008, at 5:00 p.m. in the community room at the Mitchell Public Library. Board President Blumer called the meeting to order at 5:05 p.m.
All board members were present.
Minutes. The minutes of the January 8th, 2008 board meeting were read and approved. M/S/P—Margheim, Claggett. The minutes are on file at the Library and will be made available via the website. There was no February meeting.
Director’s report. The Director’s report was approved as given and will be on file at the Library and via the website. In addition to the report, the Director informed the Trustees that the statue had arrived and was put in place in front of the circ desk. A letter of thanks will be sent to the Mizel Family from the Mayor and the Library Board. A dedication of the statue during National Library Week was discussed.
New business. The final figures for the Food for Fines drive were presented to the Trustees. A total of 238 food items were donated to the Library in lieu of fines. 119 food items were donated last year. A discussion followed about coming up with an additional way to notify patrons of overdue materials. The water bill was suggested. RSVP volunteer patrol officers were mentioned as an avenue for collecting the overdue material from patrons.
The annual report for 2007 was submitted for approval. All public libraries are required to file an annual report in order to be eligible for grants. The annual report was approved. M/S/P—Claggett, Margheim. A copy is sent to the State Library and City Hall. One copy remains at the Library.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned. The next meeting will be on Tuesday, April 8th, 2008, at 5:00 p.m. in the community room at the Library.
