The Mitchell Public Library Board of Trustees meet every second Tuesday of the month at 5:00pm. To view the minutes of the meetings select the year and then the date of the meeting. MEETING OF THE MITCHELL PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES, TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 11TH, 2007.
The Mitchell Public Library Board of Trustees met on Tuesday, September 11th, 2007, at
5:00 p.m. in the community room at the Mitchell Public Library. Board president Blumer called the meeting to order at 5:04 p.m.
Members present: Blumer, Claggett, Lapka, Margheim, Molumby, Taylor.
Members absent: none.
Minutes. Minutes of the July 10th, 2007 board meeting were read and approved. M/S/P—Claggett, Margheim. There was no meeting in August.
Director’s report. The Director’s report was approved as given. In addition to the report, the Director informed the Board that Cindy Keney had resigned her position as Library Assistant II, shelver. The position has been advertised in the Daily Republic and Career Learning Center.
Unfinished business. Estimates for placing a card of thanks in the paper were provided to the Board. For a card of thanks, the cost was .80 a line. If it were column form, the cost would be $6.40 a column inch. The Director was instructed to go on with the project.
New business. Discussion and possible approval of the collection development policy was tabled until next month’s meeting. A recap of library’s budget request from the City was given. With the exception of a $3,000 cut in library materials, the library’s budget request was left intact. The annual report for 2006 was presented to the Board. The report was approved. M/S/P—Claggett, Margheim. One copy each will go to the State Library and City Hall. The library will retain one copy for its files.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 5:40 p.m. The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 9th, 2007, at 5:00 p.m. in the community room at the library.
