Materials Needed:
An old pair of Blue Jeans with the top part of the pants as large as bag you want.
Material Bonding Glue
Needle and blue thread or Sewing Machine
Material for the bag handle (rope belt, rope, long strip of blue jean material)
Adjustable belt or fastener for the opening of the bag (optional).
Decoration if desired.
Instructions:
There are two ways to make the bag. The first way is that you cut both legs off the pants and cut up as high as right above the inseam. The second way is to cut 4 to 6 inches below the inseam on each leg. How long you make it will make a difference in how the bottom of the bag looks.
Next close the bottom of the bag. If you hand sew or machine sew the ends leave a two-inch seam. If you want to give a sturdy bottom to the bag take the bottom seam that you sewed and glue the material down with the bonding glue. Tacky glue can be used but it will not be as stiff. When the glue is dried turn the bag right side out. Next add the handle. If you are using a rope belt use one that is long enough to go through one pant loop and then tie the other end to the opposite pant loop. If you are going to use a piece of material either sew the ends to the bag or tie them. To be able to close the bag put an adjustable belt through the loops and fasten the end.
If you want to decorate the bag you can do it. But keep in mind if you want to wash the bag it has to be decorated with materials that can be washed.
